President
Von A. Salmi Sr., ASLA, Assoc. AIA

Von has been in the construction industry for over 50 years. Von has been involved in the construction of over 1,000 homes in that time frame. Those homes ranged from $50,000 to $50,000,000. 

He has owned numerous businesses in the construction industry over the years and possesses an extensive background in design, building materials, and methods. He has had a design practice for over 40 years providing design services for residential buildings and sites. He is an expert in the design process, building, site work and associated systems related to residential construction.

Von possesses a five–year professional degree in Landscape Architecture ’74 from Kansas State University with a minor in architectural history. In addition, he holds a current Unrestricted Construction Supervisors License, Home Improvement Contractor’s Registration and MA Lead Safe Renovators Waiver in Massachusetts.

Von has performed expert witness and construction forensic services since 1994 and has been involved in hundreds of cases requiring his expertise.  Von Salmi and Associates, Inc. was started by Von Salmi in 2008 to address a growing demand for his services in this field.

Heather R. von Mering

Heather R. von Mering has been working in the building and design industry since 2000 and has been with Von Salmi & Associates, Inc, since 2009. Her expertise is in architecture, design, historical and zoning regulations, and the financial components of the residential building industry.

She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Architecture. She currently holds a Construction Supervisor License (CSL), is a Registered Home Improvement Contractor (HIC), has a Real Estate Salesperson License, holds an OSHA DOL 30 Construction Safety Certification, is a Fellow Emeriti of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical American, and is the Chair of the Town of Winchester’s Planning Board.
